This is the official site of the Tuesday Night Poker club of NYC.  Here we will store news, commentary, photos, and the general history of our madcap escapades each and every Tuesday night. This site will be a virtual scrapbook and permanent online documentary of our adventures in gambling arguing and drunkeness.

What's Going On?

A Very Special  Koneo-torial:

In the most serious scuffle at Tuesday Night Poker in quite some time, Dano de la Noche  threatens to quit the game permanently after a 15 years of play.

The incident, which prompted this dramatic response, occurred  during last weekšs game in LIC . It involved some of Danošs most cherished hair care products being rudely tossed down a flight of stairs by another player in a drunken fit of mindless  vandalism. With arguable the best hair in the game, Dano is understandably very possessive of his shampoos and conditioners. However, as serious a trauma as any player should have to endure while hosting, quitting the game permanently after so many years seemed way too drastic as a response to this kind of assault.  There had to be something more to his wanting to quit and there was.

During a standard mental health review later in the week conducted by Edict for those seeking permanent discharge from poker, Dano's  true motivation for wanting to leave the game were uncovered . His interview revealed his wanting to leave over what he describes  as "constant shit over his card playing."

Such criticisms are generally  characterized as not keeping track of the deal, folding early for no apparent reason, not remaining seated during play, wanting to leave early, etc .

With some delicate ego massaging and assurances  that he would intervene to curtail this kind of ribbing by the other players Edict was able to counsel Dano back for this weeks game and were all glad for it. Crisis over? Not by a long shot.

The type of lackluster, disinterested play Dano has been criticized for so harshly hasnšt gone away. In fact, last night's game proved that the poker lethargy virus is back in its most virulent form.  And guess what? Dano ain't the only one that's got it. In fact, some of the player who have been the loudest critics of Dano are themselves the laziest poker sods. It seems to me that the only players who really want to play poker whether theyšre winning or losing are Edict, Chowhound, Redcard and myself. The rest of you seem to be a pathetic collection of Cub Scouts  staying up past your bedtime to watch Sex in the City before mommy gets  home. Although, Danošs playing seemed  improved, I'm betting hešs back in the knitting circle next week.

Thanks to Koneo for filling in in my absence. [Felt]
